Activism

We support the organizations that are advancing the next generation of activists. Those who will use their skill, power and platform to advance positive change. We leverage the power of philanthropy to support initiatives and organizations that are dedicated to promoting fairness, inclusion, and opportunity for underserved communities.

By investing in programs that address systemic barriers and promote social change, we aim to create a more equitable and just society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive. Advocacy work serves as the unifying force that brings everyone together, fostering solidarity and collective action towards a shared vision of a better tomorrow.

“My whole life has been about equal rights and opportunities.”

Our Partners & Impact

The National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) is working everyday to ensure that Title IX is protected across university campuses, and those who have been impacted by sexual assault have access to representation. They also ensure reproductive rights and freedoms continue to be advocated for. BJKF supports the NWLC’s work and partnered, along with the Women’s Sports Foundation, on the Demand IX awareness campaign for the 50th anniversary of Title IX in 2021.

Athlete Ally‘s mission is to end homophobia and transphobia in sport and to activate the athletic community to exercise their leadership to champion LGBTQ equality.

BJKF supports Athlete Ally’s efforts to create inclusive LGBTQ athletic environments.

LPAC was founded in 2012 by a group of LGBTQ women seeking to increase representation for and with LGBTQ women and nonbinary candidates. LPAC’s focus is on electing LGBTQ women and nonbinary candidates who share the values of: LGBTQ and women’s equality, women’s health, and social justice. BJKF has provided grants to support the important research efforts of this organization, helping them coalesce LGBTQ women as a concrete and powerful political demographic.

The late Urvashi Vaid was an Indian-born American LGBTQ rights activist, lawyer, and writer. An expert in gender and sexuality law, she was in relentless pursuit of equity and justice for all. The BJKF seeks to preserve Urvashi’s legacy and continue to support the important work of The Vaid Group through a research contribution grant.
